It's a story that hits you on so many levels. Not just what occured, but too, what CAN occur. It's a story of man's inhumanity as well as the strenght of people to survive and look ahead. Vic Shayne did a superb job in bringing Mr Small's experience to life in a literary way. This book should be read by students who want to understand that, as the author writes, the Holocaust was not just a world event, but a personal event.
